Tracy's Piece of Cake is a labor of love run by Tracy Reynolds. Tracy is a mother of two living in scenic Rosman, North Carolina. This allows her to practice her art for cake loving folks living in the Transylvania County area.

At its heart, Tracy's Piece of Cake stems from Tracy's love of baked confections. However, not many know of our humble origins.

If the legends are true, it all began one chilly winter's night while in bed. It is then that the idea struck her. She sat bolt upright in the bed and yelled "CAKES!"

However, this revelation was lost on her husband, Matt. While normally a very heavy sleeper, his wife's sudden outburst triggered his worst fear. Falling frantically out of bed and tripping over his jeans strewn about on the floor, he stumbled to the closet and began searching for his trusty shotgun. Deep in his heart, he'd always feared this day would come, but he'd always imagined he'd be wearing more than his skivvies when it happened. With his gun found, he turned, cocked it, and said, "Tracy, get to the kids. I'll handle this."

Tracy stared at him, a very homage of masculine bravado standing tall in the heroic glow of a Snoopy nightlight. She then asked, "What the heck does that have to do with cakes?"

Slowly coming to terms with the fact that perhaps there wasn't as much danger about as he had anticipated, Matt rubbed his face and replied, "Wh-what?!"

"Cakes! Think about it. Cakes make people happy. Every event of your life that is meant to be celebrated has a big ol' cake." She started counting on her fingers. "Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, you name it. These are peoples' happy memories. The memories they will carry with them for a life time. They need better cakes than you can get at the mega-mart. They need works of edible art. I can give them that."

Matt sat down on the bed, hoping to avoid the near cardiac arrest. "So, you want to bake cakes for people? Now? At two A.M.?"

"No, don't be silly." She leaned forward and kissed him on the forehead. "I'll start in the morning. Though, you should call Lee. Tell him I'll need a website and marketing material."

Matt sighed as the adrenaline left him and he crawled back under the covers. "What should I tell him to write?"

Tracy just smiled as she settled back into bed. "Oh, I don't know. He's supposed to be the clever one. Tell him to just make something up."
